Lo sceriffo e la moschea itinerante is a documentary project about the Islamic community living in Treviso, Italy. The focus is on the difficulties experienced by immigrants professing the Islamic faith to exercise their religion freely as granted by the Italian constitution.

Giving back a condensed and intuitive version of the debate that populated the pages of the local newspaper La Tribuna di Treviso in the early 2000s, Lo sceriffo e la moschea itinerante takes the shape of a comic, playing on the farse-like nature of the debate between the representative of the right-wing Lega party, Giancarlo Gentilini, and the Imam heading the Muslim community of Treviso.

The publication aims to show the struggle of Islamic immigrants living on Italian soil to reattain their lost or kidnapped identity through a struggle for freedom, both religious and cultural.
